“The show was a great success and Alex had the audience out of their chairs cheering him on three or four times during his set. He was wonderful! “
~ Ron deHarte, Executive Director of CAPI, President of Greater Palm Springs Pride
"Alex Newell gave a diva like performance with a down to earth attitude and was a pleasure to work with. He came in as the pinch hitter after a last minute headliner cancellation and hit a home-run. True Professional!" ~Dwayne Crenshaw – Dir., San Diego Pride
“Alex is a delight to work with. Our audiences thoroughly enjoy his talent.” ~Mollie Levin, Director of Events – Human Rights Campaign(HRC)
“As entertainment chair and chair of 2012 Hampton Roads gay pride festival, I receive many emails and facebook contacts from promoters and talent agents. Linda Lewis is by far the most professional, friendly and helpful of them all. She is prompt in her response and really wanted to get to know our market and find entertainers that met our market and our budget. Linda really cares about pride festivals and wants to make them the best ever. Under her guidance we were able to have Kristine W. and Matt Zarley perform. The entertainment was top notch and everything went perfectly. Linda was at our festival helping us wherever needed. I appreciate her devotion to her clients. I consider Linda a lifelong friend to me and the community.”
Michael Beane, OITP2012 Chair
As you may already know, Philly Pride Presents organizes the Philadelphia Annual Gay Pride Celebration “PrideDay” in June and the Annual National Coming Out Day Celebration “OutFest” in October. This year’s event will mark our 25th anniversary.
I am the current Executive Director as well as the Entertainment Chair for Philly Pride events and have been since “1995”. In the past, Philly Pride have used many different talent agencies to book the entertainment for our events and it always ends up with us having a lot of stress, doing a lot of extra work and spending more than we originally budgeted for with last minute riders, demands and details their agents and/or management company left out.
Four years ago, we started using Linda Lewis as our Entertainment Coordinator and it has been a real pleasure and relief. Linda does it all, you just tell her what kind of entertainment you want, what your budget is and from that minute on, she is on it. There is never a lack of communitication, she will constantly keep you updated and notify you instantly if something comes up. She will go over the entertainers standard contract/riders and help make changes to it that will work for your event.
Linda has also provided us with local deaf interpreters for our main stage; she will be present during your event if you need her to be. When Linda is present during your event, she acts as the entertainer’s road manager and makes them feel welcome; she will help keep them calm and content. She will also assist your stage manager and sound crew where needed.
At the end of the day, the entertainers, the pride committee, the stage crew and the event attendees are happy! Thank You Linda for being professional and for your personal commitment in giving the LGBT communities the best entertainment experience.
